Position Overview:
We are currently in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in all phases of projects, ensuring adherence to relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Design and specify Mechanical Building Services systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and control systems.
- Create engineering drawings and detailed specifications.
- Evaluate client specifications for compliance.
- Draft technical reports and analyses to support design proposals.
- Assess shop drawings for conformity and contribute to the establishment of engineering standards.
- Solicit and follow up on proposals from suppliers and contractors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
- Conduct site visits and surveys for project-related tasks.
- Perform load calculations, including heat load assessments using HAP's.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience in designing commercial and residential buildings.
- Possession of a P.Eng. designation with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in good standing.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and client specifications for detailed design.
- Demonstrated leadership and business development capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit software.
- Fluency in English is essential.
