Job Overview

Summit Steel Fabricators Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Steel Structure Installer to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers a dynamic work environment.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the field
Work Environment

The role involves working in various conditions, including:

  • Outdoor settings
  • Potentially hazardous environments
  • Work at heights
  • Exposure to noise
  • Temperature variations (cold and hot)
  • Wet or damp conditions
Work Setting

Tasks will primarily be conducted in:

  • New construction projects (not pre-engineered)
  • Renovation and revamping projects
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain work requirements
  • Conducting job-site calculations
  • Coordinating with crane operators to position materials accurately
  • Aligning, welding, or bolting steel components in place
  • Unloading and positioning steel units for hoisting
  • Reading and interpreting technical documents
Required Certifications

Applicants must possess the following certifications:

  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform certification
  • Training for working at heights
  • First Aid certification
  • Fall arrest protection training
Welding Skills

Familiarity with the following welding techniques is essential:

  • Oxy-acetylene welding
  • ARC welding
Specialization Areas

The role will focus on:

  • Erecting structural steel
  • Assembling and erecting metal buildings
Safety and Security

All candidates must be:

  • Bondable
Travel Requirements

Travel may be necessary, and candidates should have:

  • A valid driver's license
  • A willingness to travel, with expenses covered by the employer
