As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate with a talented team of over 160 professionals, including engineers, designers, and fabricators. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance your expertise in project management and machinery design, focusing on hygienic design principles essential for food processing equipment. We continuously strive to innovate and improve hygienic designs to meet and exceed our clients' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Utilize Autodesk Inventor software to oversee the design aspects of complex projects from initial concept to final implementation.
  2. Work closely with project managers to develop customized equipment solutions for the food processing industry.
  3. Lead a design team, coordinating drawing schedules and project timelines in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  4. Provide innovative solutions to address the intricate food processing requirements of our clients.
  5. Create practical and effective equipment designs while adhering to budget constraints.
  6. Review equipment models and design drawings to ensure compliance with original design specifications.
  7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the design of standard components and equipment.
  8. Efficiently manage project timelines to produce layout and fabrication drawings.
  9. Oversee and validate Bill of Materials for procurement through the ERP system.
  10. Guide a team of mechanical designers in their daily tasks to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  11. Mentor designers on technical aspects of projects.
  12. Participate in project meetings and collaborate with Project Managers to implement necessary design modifications.
  13. Conduct internal design reviews with engineering and fabrication teams, facilitating required adjustments.
  14. Engage with vendors to select appropriate equipment components.
  15. Assist the Shop Foreman with fabrication details and methodologies.
  16. Ensure equipment functionality and plant layouts meet customer expectations.
  17. Create and/or review process flow diagrams, P&ID's, and instrumentation lists.
  18. Troubleshoot equipment or fabrication challenges both in-house and on-site.
  19. Perform inspections of equipment on the manufacturing floor to verify adherence to design intent.
  20. Work with both imperial and metric measurements to accommodate local and global client requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Support the overall business objectives as defined by the company.
  2. Innovate in the design of new components and equipment.
  3. Attend weekly departmental meetings.
  4. Maintain and organize file structures within the Autodesk Vault.
  5. Contribute to departmental and company culture initiatives.
  6. Develop LEAN manufacturing strategies.
  7. Provide technical leadership within the organization.
  8. Lead or assist in internal improvement processes within Engineering.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine design utilizing solid modelling software, with preference for Autodesk Inventor.
  2. 5 years of experience in developing fabrication drawings.
  3. Formal education in engineering or engineering drafting is advantageous.
  4. Experience with stainless steel fabrication is essential.
  5. Familiarity with sheet metal design is required.
  6. Strong understanding of manufacturability of parts, including machine capabilities and tolerancing.
  7. Experience in the industrial food processing sector is preferred.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability to generate written reports and review technical specifications.
  10. Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to design.
  11. Experience working collaboratively as a team member and mentor.
Salary: $60,000 to $80,000+ per year plus benefits and paid overtime.
