The Patient Watch Guard is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of patients in the absence of medical staff, such as nurses.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy direct patient interaction or those interested in pursuing a career in security.
This is a full-time on-call position operating on a 7 on 7 off schedule, with a requirement to work overnight shifts.
Core Duties:
- Non-physical, verbal redirection only.
- One-on-one patient monitoring for low-risk individuals who may be at risk due to confusion, mental health issues, wandering, or potential falls.
- Respond to on-demand requests, requiring travel between various sites.
- Effective communication skills.
- No prior experience necessary.
- Maintain a calm demeanor.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to remain composed and perform effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively across various social levels.
- Capability to identify issues and relay information to the appropriate personnel.
- Physical stamina to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to make quick decisions while maintaining composure in emergency response scenarios with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a customer service mindset.
- Capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Present a professional image to the public.
- Adhere to our Code of Ethics in fulfilling job responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- A valid driver's license.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Willingness to work on-call and travel as needed.
- Willingness to drive consistently throughout your shift and relocate to different facilities as required.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn security protocols and non-defensive communication in challenging situations.
High School Diploma or GED
Certification Requirements:
Valid driver's license
Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
