INVISTA Canada is seeking a dedicated individual for the pivotal position of Turnaround Leader within our Maintenance Leadership Team. This role is essential for driving successful outcomes in our maintenance operations. The selected candidate will leverage their expertise in project management to achieve significant business objectives related to turnarounds and extensive maintenance activities.
About Our Team
Our team consists of a cohesive group of approximately 8 maintenance leaders who provide guidance to a workforce of 85 skilled trades professionals. We collaborate closely with engineering, planning, and operational resources, fostering an environment where personal development and teamwork are prioritized. The Turnaround Leader will oversee all aspects of turnaround and major outage processes, ensuring effective collaboration across various departments. This position reports directly to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- The Turnaround Leader is accountable for achieving business objectives related to turnarounds and significant maintenance events impacting production equipment. Key performance indicators include safety, compliance, asset reliability, cost management, duration, quality, and post-maintenance performance.
- This role involves setting strategic direction and coordinating an integrated team that includes Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Contractors, Reliability, and Production Engineering.
- For smaller maintenance events, the Turnaround Leader will spearhead field execution coordination, fostering a positive team culture that ensures readiness and successful event execution.
- Essential duties include:
- Engaging with key stakeholders to align on priorities and processes.
- Optimizing maintenance plans regarding scope, cost, and duration.
- Preparing detailed estimates and schedules.
- Monitoring progress, reallocating resources as necessary, and maintaining clear communication throughout the execution phase.
- The Turnaround Leader will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, which encompass conducting post-event reviews, benchmarking performance, and innovating for enhanced outcomes.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a post-secondary diploma in engineering complemented by relevant Project Management or Turnaround experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in Turnaround or Large Industrial/Construction Project Management, including leadership, planning, and execution.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
- Prior experience leading turnaround or multidisciplinary teams within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Experience with data analytics tools, such as MS Power BI.
