About This Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) has a permanent opportunity available for an Emergency Medicine Physician. The successful candidate will provide care to patients within the eastern zone and participate in call.

Responsibilities

The physician will be responsible for the full scope of practice as an emergency physician, including:

  • Providing care to patients within the eastern zone
  • Participating in call
  • Operating within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
Expected Hours

The physician will work full-time hours, including:

  • Hour shifts
  • Being available within 20 minutes of the hospital when on call
Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) if a family physician
  • Be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) if a specialist
  • Have membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • Have a current PALS Certification
  • Have a current ATLS Certification
  • Have a current ACLS Certification
