Position Overview:
As a vital member of our team at Spa 23 Fitness and Lifestyle, the Community Rehabilitation Specialist is tasked with delivering comprehensive speech and language services to individuals recovering from strokes. This role is essential in supporting clients within the designated service areas.
Key Responsibilities:
The Community Rehabilitation Specialist will:
- Provide tailored speech and language interventions to stroke survivors.
- Engage in client-specific consultations and educational sessions for caregivers, families, and service providers.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to offer innovative rehabilitation services aimed at enhancing recovery outcomes for clients in their homes and communities.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A valid membership with the College of Audiologists and Speech and Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology.
- Clinical expertise in stroke rehabilitation, including knowledge of dysphagia management.
- Experience working in community-based settings.
- An understanding of the roles of various rehabilitation professionals in stroke recovery.
- Proficiency in adult learning theories and patient self-management strategies.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort with virtual work environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Work Schedule:
Candidates should be available for flexible shifts, including weekends, and may be required to cover multiple sites as needed.
