Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Automation and SCADA Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting automation systems in various electrical facilities.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automation solutions for Transmission and Distribution, Power Generation, Industrial, and Renewable Energy projects.
  • Utilize industry-standard protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and related cybersecurity standards (IEC 62351, NERC CIP).
  • Work with modern control systems including SCADA, RTUs, and PLCs from leading manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, ABB, Eaton, SEL, Allen Bradley, Survalent, Honeywell, and AES.
  • Collaborate with field engineers to ensure seamless integration of office designs with on-site implementations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration and communication challenges in the field.
  • Prepare comprehensive design packages for substations, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.
  • Proficiently utilize software tools such as Microstation, AutoCAD, Trane Software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices (CSA, ANSI, IEC, and IEEE).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field preferred; or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the Utilities industry is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in construction and field installations is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in medium/high voltage power distribution design.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Eligible for registration with APEGGA or ASET.
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities, capable of working within tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
