At Porter Airlines, we handle a significant volume of shipments related to aircraft components and maintenance supplies on a daily basis. Our operations rely on a diverse network of couriers, brokers, and transportation firms to facilitate these deliveries.
Reporting directly to the Manager of Stores & Inventory Control, the Logistics Coordinator will oversee all activities associated with these shipments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage and coordinate daily shipment activities.
2. Ensure the appropriate handling of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) shipments from collection to delivery, maintaining continuous communication between the shipper and the organization.
3. Organize and coordinate Import/Export/Domestic AOG and routine shipments.
4. Negotiate, confirm, and monitor shipping rates with carriers.
5. Optimize the existing network of shippers and couriers to ensure shipment accuracy, oversee customs documentation, manage critical shipments, and educate all departments on the most cost-effective and timely shipping methods.
6. Collaborate with individual vendors to ensure service level agreements are met.
7. Develop and monitor processes related to freight shipments, including vendor selection for AOG, standard deliveries, and expedited shipments.
8. Track and analyze freight costs, providing monthly updates on expenditures versus targets.
9. Review vendor invoices for accuracy.
10. Ensure all aspects of cross-border shipments are managed, including brokers, bonded storage, and necessary paperwork.
Additionally, the Coordinator will actively engage in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS), which includes reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations, and promoting adherence to the Company Safety Policy.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a logistics or shipping capacity.
- Experience with aviation components is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism in stressful situations.
- Capability to obtain a Transport Canada restricted area pass.
