Job Summary:
Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide culturally sensitive care to Indigenous clients and their families, addressing mental health and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their natural supports.
- Provide comprehensive case consultation and follow-up support to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Support the development and maintenance of abilities related to activities of daily living, discharge, and transition of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to determine best approaches to care and assess the need for emergent crisis intervention.
- Facilitate client utilization of appropriate community services and rehabilitative programs.
- Advocate on behalf of clients, providing information about appeal processes and assisting with forms completion.
- Make necessary arrangements for clients to be admitted to hospital, including on an involuntary basis.
- Provide client care linkages between community mental health & substance use services and acute care facilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an Allied Health Discipline from a recognized program.
- Two years' recent, related experience working with clients and families with mental illness and substance use disorders, including one year of experience working with Indigenous clients.
- Knowledge of Indigenous health approaches, protocol, and cultural issues.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
