We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a Master's degree in a health-related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution. The ideal candidate will have recognized post-basic education related to mental illness, substance use, and concurrent disorders.
Experience and Skills
**Key Responsibilities**
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of mental health issues, substance use issues, and concurrent disorders. They will also possess knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- **Practice Skills**: Demonstrated expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy, brief solution-focused therapy, risk assessment, and other psychotherapeutic interventions.
- **Clinical Competence**: Ability to provide care and treatment for mental illness, substance use, and concurrent disorders.
- **Communication**: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- **Interpersonal Skills**: Ability to work effectively with others, including clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- **Problem-Solving**: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and clinical coaching/teaching skills.
- **Judgment and Observation**: Sound judgment, good observation, and client assessment skills, with tact and empathy.
- **Independence and Teamwork**: Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while also contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
- **Client-Centered Care**: Prioritize and organize client demands and care needs, promoting positive change and independence.
- **Physical and Emotional Demands**: Ability to physically and emotionally carry out the duties of the position.
- **Professional Development**: Commitment to ongoing professional development, as required by the employer.
- **Vehicle Operation**: Valid BC Driver's License and ability to use a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
