Role Overview: This position encompasses the responsibilities of both a Clinical Team Lead and a Primary Counsellor.

Key Responsibilities as Clinical Team Lead:

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to clinical staff, enhancing their skills and the quality of client care.
  • Assist the Clinical Supervisor in training team members to ensure timely and accurate documentation for quality assurance.
  • Step into a leadership role during the Clinical Supervisor's absence.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to recommend improvements in processes and quality.
  • Manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for group programming.
  • Offer constructive feedback to staff and escalate performance issues as necessary.
  • Support administrative functions and maintain effective communication with partners.
  • Engage in clinical case conferencing and provide individual case consultations as needed.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts for new employees.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Celebrate team achievements and other assigned duties.

Responsibilities as Mental Health and Addiction Counsellor:

  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy while assessing client progress.
  • Coordinate cases and communicate effectively within an inter-professional team.
  • Maintain timely communication with referral agencies, providing support to clients and their families.
  • Manage clients with diverse addictions and mental health challenges.
  • Identify treatment goals and collaborate with clinical teams for coordinated care.
  • Participate in the creation and follow-up of client care and discharge plans.
  • Ensure detailed documentation and timely reporting.
  • Engage in weekly clinical meetings to discuss client progress and recommendations.
  • Support clients in their recovery journey.
  • Communicate with families as necessary.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain relevant qualifications.
  • Supervise students as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
