We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lab Patient Technician to join our team at LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services in Ontario. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, and conduct ECG tracings with precision and care.
- Collect and process special test samples, such as medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and clients, responding to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Enter patient demographic and requisition information into our laboratory information system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare specimens for transportation and testing, adhering to strict quality control and safety protocols.
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Ability to maintain the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Good computer skills, with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
