The Stollery Children's Hospital serves as the leading acute care facility for pediatric patients in the Edmonton region and acts as the referral hub for the Western Canadian Heart Network. The facility is recognized as the ECMO/VAD referral center for the majority of Western Canada. The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) at the Stollery is committed to delivering cutting-edge care to critically ill children up to 18 years of age. Since its inception in 2001, the Stollery has evolved into a specialized institution with the necessary expertise and programs to guarantee that children requiring inpatient services receive the highest standard of care. A diverse team of highly skilled child health professionals from across the globe has contributed to the Stollery's reputation as a distinguished center for specialized pediatric services.
Role Overview:
As an Instructor, you will function as a proficient practitioner and pivotal educator. Your responsibilities will encompass leading the planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of educational programs for nursing personnel, which includes orientation, mandatory training, and ongoing professional development. You will work collaboratively with management and internal stakeholders to uphold standards of clinical, educational, and evidence-based practices. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care, while embodying the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in developing educational materials for both staff and patients is preferred. Proficiency in teaching and facilitating both small and large group sessions is advantageous. Familiarity with in-service training and program development, implementation, and evaluation is beneficial.
