Role Summary: As part of the Commercial Team, this role supports the Manager of Special Projects and Commercial or the Manager of Performance and Planning. Responsibilities include project management, contractor and client liaison, performance assessment, operational planning, and additional tasks as assigned. This position is integral to the Commercial Department.

Location: Richmond, BC (Onsite Work)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular updates to the Manager regarding project status, including any delays and anticipated schedules.
  • Oversee the flow of documentation, including submittals, comments, and requests for information related to projects.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, agendas, logistics, project deliverables, specifications, and reports.
  • Maintain document control best practices by tracking RFIs, purchase orders, and submittals.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure project work is accurately tracked and billed on a regular basis.
  • Work with the procurement team to review designs, specifications, and agreements, sourcing appropriate vendors and materials as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate project issues with contractors, project teams, and clients, including conflict resolution.
  • Prepare and review work permits to manage site access for contractors.
  • Monitor activity performance against contractual obligations and provide necessary reports.
  • Inspect and review projects during construction to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.
  • Manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Analyze and report on commercial performance, including root cause analysis of delays and management of the PMS system.
  • Implement Operations Planning processes, including coordination with Control Room and Field Operations.
  • Enhance business processes using scripting languages and data visualization tools.
  • Evaluate the commercial performance of contractors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Expected compensation for this role ranges from $58,300 to $107,800 annually, based on skills, experience, and potential impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Visio, and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capable of working both collaboratively and independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy in tracking, time management, and project planning.
  • Experience in programming is a plus.
  • Previous experience in engineering, architecture, or construction with a focus on task coordination is advantageous.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
