Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team at Mon Sheong Richmond Hill Long Term Care Centre. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality standard of food production, cleanliness, and sanitation in the work area and with the equipment.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals to residents in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food and supply inventory levels, reporting any shortages to the supervisor.
- Receive, label, and store food and supplies in designated areas.
- Prepare food, snacks, and desserts for residents with various dietary needs.
- Ensure all food served is palatable, at the right temperature, and portioned correctly.
- Identify and report any safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Participate in daily cleaning and work activity schedules.
Requirements
- Food handler certificate.
- Experience in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality food service.
- Or one of the following qualifications: students hired on a seasonal or part-time basis who have completed a food handler training program, persons who meet the qualifications as a cook, or persons who have a post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and push/pull a 500-pound food warming cart.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is preferred.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with long periods of standing, walking, and repeated bending.
