Clinical Psychologist, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to critically ill children and their families in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients and families, incorporating evidence-based interventions and strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide coordinated care and support, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments, including cognitive, educational, and social-emotional evaluations.
- Provide psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy, behavior management, and play psychotherapy.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, promoting open and empathetic relationships.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices and policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with the latest research, theories, and techniques in pediatric psychology.
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
- Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
- Experience working with critically ill children and their families, preferably in a pediatric intensive care unit setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in pediatric psychology.
