The Senior Machine Learning Operations Engineer plays a pivotal role in the architecture, development, deployment, and oversight of machine learning models. This position requires close collaboration with Data Analysts and ML Engineers during the Analytics Exploration phase, as well as working alongside Software and Data Engineers to ensure that the infrastructure and data pipelines are optimized for effective machine learning deployment.
Key Responsibilities:- Interprets and converts business and functional requirements into actionable machine learning problem statements.
- Breaks down intricate machine learning challenges into clear deliverables and specifications.
- Evaluates and enhances algorithms, feature sets, and validation metrics provided by the Analytics Exploration team to ensure their effectiveness for targeted issues; modifies and retrains models as necessary for production.
- Transforms the exploration team's code into robust, production-ready solutions, incorporating CI/CD pipeline integration and infrastructure setup for training and monitoring to align with enterprise standards.
- Manages the continuous improvement and upkeep of our model-agnostic MLOps infrastructure and Python package, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Works in conjunction with development teams to validate and implement machine learning models.
- Establishes metrics for ongoing assessment of machine learning solution performance.
- Ensures compliance with performance benchmarks and adherence to data security and model governance protocols.
- Stays informed about emerging tools, algorithms, and methodologies in machine learning and seeks to integrate them within the organization.
Over five years of experience in crafting and deploying enterprise-level machine learning solutions is essential. A bachelor's degree in software engineering, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline [or equivalent professional experience] is required. An advanced degree in a relevant quantitative field is preferred. A solid grasp of probability and statistical models is necessary. Proficiency in machine learning algorithms is expected. Ability to conduct scientific experiments and analyze outcomes is crucial. Experience with code reproducibility and version control is required. Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL are essential. Familiarity with Linux, Bash, and Docker is necessary. Proficiency with AWS ML technology stack or equivalent is expected. Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code is important. Strong collaborative skills across various teams and stakeholders, including analytics, development, and operations teams, are vital. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts in accessible language for all stakeholders are required. A high degree of creativity and collaboration is essential. Demonstrated good judgment, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to high ethical standards, regulatory compliance, customer service, and business integrity are crucial.
