Culinary Specialist Job Description

At Wimpy's Diner, we are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food is prepared and served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs to maintain profitability.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to meet customer demand.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to exacting standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances with care and attention to detail.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain inventory levels.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient service.
  • Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Permanent employment with 35 to 40 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
Work Environment:

Our kitchen is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and ability to work under pressure are essential. Standing for extended periods is also required.

Personal Suitability:
  • Client focus and dependability are essential for this role.
  • Excellent oral communication skills are required to interact with customers and staff.
  • Flexibility and judgement are necessary to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Organized and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
