Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a seasoned SCADA OT Systems Specialist to enhance our client's capabilities. This position is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
The role involves overseeing critical Operational Technology (OT) supervisory systems that are integral to the management and monitoring of energy generation and distribution. The SCADA OT Specialist will play a vital role in the administration, planning, and development of various enterprise and plant-level SCADA OT systems, focusing on maintaining high operational availability and implementing best practices in security compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support for various OT SCADA systems at the enterprise level interfacing with plant control systems. Ensure the integrity, functionality, and security of OT systems while improving operational systems. Manage the development, configuration, and commissioning of enterprise OT SCADA systems in collaboration with field personnel. Lead the administration of data historians and develop solutions for operational data exchange, integrating third-party systems related to energy management. Collaborate with internal IT Infrastructure teams to implement core services for OT systems, focusing on cybersecurity requirements. Participate in mitigating IT/OT security risks across generation systems, aligning with industry standards. Oversee the administration of OT hosting environments, user accounts, and business application development. Demonstrate expertise in industrial protocols and analyze network traffic for troubleshooting. Enhance OT systems' reliability and safety through effective monitoring. Support the administration of supervisory field equipment and assist in preliminary designs for SCADA projects. Conduct evaluation and acceptance tests on new SCADA systems and associated equipment. Implement improvements to support 24-hour supervisory control operations. Manage vendor support agreements and contractor oversight for SCADA systems. Provide and receive training among team members, fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or related fields with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Operational Technology. Proven experience in enterprise OT supervisory systems, preferably within the electric utility sector. Familiarity with SCADA security standards and experience in OT/IT environments. At least 5 years of experience in implementing and administering OT supervisory systems. Strong knowledge of operating platforms, including Linux and Microsoft environments, with relevant certifications preferred. Experience with SCADA historians and database systems, along with project management skills. Knowledge of RTU, PLC, and industrial SCADA communications protocols. Proven ability to conduct cybersecurity audits and risk assessments. Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills. Strong time-management and multitasking abilities in a dynamic environment. Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent.
