Product Engineer Job Description at TuxMat Inc.

Job Summary:
TuxMat Inc. is seeking a skilled Product Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing products throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design new products or enhancements to existing products, including creating detailed specifications, prototypes, and models
  • Perform engineering analyses such as stress testing, thermal analysis, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) to ensure product performance and reliability
  • Participate in the Product Development process, including testing and validation to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to product design, development, testing, and quality standards
  • Identify and resolve engineering issues during the development and production phases, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Manage and track project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that product development goals are achieved within set parameters
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
  • 5+ Years of proven experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail in design and development work to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Problem-solving mindset oriented around continuous improvement
  • Ability to think creatively and develop novel solutions to engineering challenges
  • Flexibility to handle changing requirements and priorities in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Solidworks, and/or other CAD software design/simulation tools
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques, such as machining, injection molding, and assembly
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, with a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement creative solutions
  • Knowledge of quality control methods and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis)
  • P.Eng designation is an asset
