Key Responsibilities:- Develop and design new products or enhancements to existing products, including creating detailed specifications, prototypes, and models.
- Perform engineering analyses such as stress testing, thermal analysis, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Partake in the product development process, including testing and validation to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to product design, development, testing, and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve engineering issues during the development and production phases, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage and track project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that product development goals are achieved within set parameters.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail in design and development work to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Problem-solving mindset oriented around continuous improvement.
- Ability to think creatively and develop novel solutions to engineering challenges.
- Flexibility to handle changing requirements and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Solidworks, and/or other CAD software design/simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques, such as machining, injection molding, and assembly.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, with a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement creative solutions.
- Knowledge of quality control methods and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis).
- P.Eng designation is an asset.
