As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will engage with a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the robustness of our supporting infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on monitoring and optimizing the performance of our AWS-hosted applications and internal development systems. You will also oversee the management of various third-party services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to guarantee high availability and optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with internal development teams to maintain and support backend infrastructure.
  • Execute configuration updates and maintenance tasks to secure and enhance systems.
  • Analyze and respond to issues impacting system performance to reduce downtime.
  • Oversee an enterprise-level server management environment.
  • Create and revise documentation for common issues and processes to drive improvements.
  • Provide support for occasional after-hours maintenance.
  • Research and learn about various third-party tools utilized by the team.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a technical college program.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in system administration tasks, including installation, maintenance, monitoring, recovery, rebuilding, upgrading, and patching.
  • Experience with Linux distributions.
  • Familiarity with Terraform.
  • Experience with Chef is a plus.
  • Proficient in managing systems using AWS.
  • Knowledge of virtualization and network administration.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and Bash is advantageous.
  • AWS certifications are beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.

Success in this Role:

  • Effectively blend systems administration and development to design solutions within AWS.
  • Comprehend Nasdaq's cloud infrastructure and the various AWS services that support it.
