Senior Analyst, Risk Oversight

TMX is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our Risk Oversight & Compliance team. As a key contributor to the delivery of strategic project initiatives, you will play a critical role in enhancing default management practices and ensuring risk management initiatives are in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial risk exposures and validate components used to manage financial risks, making recommendations to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in the design of internal policies related to market, credit, and liquidity risks.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with business partners to satisfy their needs and anticipate potential issues.
  • Provide support in risk measurement and qualitative and quantitative analysis related to equity, fixed income, derivatives, and structured products.
  • Design and operationalize hedging strategies and procedures to manage the default of Clearing Members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the financial industry with a focus on capital markets and financial risk management.
  • Relevant risk management experience in equities, fixed-income, structured products, and derivatives.
  • Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight timelines.
  • Proactive initiative and capacity to work independently.
  • Expert written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working towards FRM (Financial Risk Manager from GARP) or PRM (Professional Risk Manager from PRMIA).
  • Enrolment in the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) program.
