SJGHEL operates across three distinct facilities: an acute-care hospital with 55 beds, a long-term care home with 64 beds, and a drug and alcohol treatment center with 68 beds, all designed to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.

Situated in the thriving City of Elliot Lake, a bilingual community with a population of 11,372, our location is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including thousands of lakes. Position Overview

The Chief Executive Officer at St. Joseph's General Hospital Elliot Lake presents a unique opportunity for qualified candidates. The CEO will provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the hospital's success, overseeing all operational aspects, including financial performance, quality of care, patient satisfaction, and employee engagement.

As a key member of the Executive Team, the CEO will work closely with the board of directors, medical staff, and other essential partners to develop and execute the hospital's strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in managing resources effectively and fostering a culture of excellence, significantly impacting healthcare delivery and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

The CEO will be responsible for:

  • Executing the hospital's strategic plan in alignment with its mission, vision, and values.
  • Providing visionary leadership to the executive team, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Ensuring quality patient-centered care and adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring the quality of medical care through collaboration with medical directors and staff.
  • Developing and managing operating and capital budgets that reflect the organization's goals.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and healthcare partners.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration.
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong financial management skills and experience in strategic planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Healthcare System and relevant policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships across various stakeholders.
