Job Title: Shift Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Manager to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a key member of our food service operations.

Job Summary:

The Shift Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes supervising staff, managing inventory, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure efficient use of resources
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and maintain inventory levels
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports, and provide feedback to management
  • Supervise and check assembly of trays, and delivery of food trolleys
  • Establish work schedules, and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service management role
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, and ability to work with a diverse team
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, and ability to maintain high standards of quality
