Job Summary:

The Millwright Supervisor is a key role in the Galaxyland Amusement Park and other Parks and Attractions areas of West Edmonton Mall. This position is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repairs of equipment and attractions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of rides and attractions.
  • Provide training and guidance to millwrights and other staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Conduct daily and routine inspections to identify potential issues and take corrective action to prevent accidents and downtime.
  • Perform staff selection interviews, performance reviews, and performance management responsibilities to ensure the team is working effectively.
  • Take a hands-on role in troubleshooting and performing major and minor operational repairs and part replacements.
  • Respond to and complete related maintenance work orders from associated attraction departments and internal checklists in a timely manner.
  • Assist in various other maintenance projects, tasks, or responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • A valid Journeyman Millwright Trade Certification.
  • A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in an associated millwright-based position with strong practical mechanical skills.
  • Previous supervisory skills, experience, and training is required for the role.
  • A dedication and knowledge of health and safety measures needed to perform each task.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate, lead team members, and ensure team project timelines are adhered to.
  • Ability to work at heights, have strong attention to detail, and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of professionalism complemented by strong verbal and written communication skills and the capability to work with various trades people, contractors, technical personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Outlook with the ability to easily learn new software programs.
  • Ability to work with a variety of environmental factors, including noise and humidity, and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Terms of Employment:

  • This is a full-time position Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm with flexibility for project-specific work.
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
