Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Radiopharmaceutical Specialist to join our esteemed team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. This role involves the preparation, dispensing, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals to conduct a wide array of diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions in the field of nuclear medicine.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the department manager, the successful candidate will:
- Administer over 70 nuclear medicine diagnostic tests and therapies with a focus on quality and ethical standards.
- Ensure ongoing quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals and imaging equipment, adhering to the regulations set forth by relevant health and safety authorities.
- Perform complex computer manipulations and analyses while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
- Independently manage on-call and emergency procedures outside of regular department hours.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree from an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Licensure from the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP).
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.

Work Schedule
This is a permanent full-time position requiring 75 hours biweekly, with shift work that includes evenings, nights, and weekends.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position is $39.96. Successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
