The Opportunity:

The HACCP Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the plant's compliance with the HACCP system, working closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to address any related issues. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of food safety regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the HACCP system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with CFIA to address any HACCP-related issues
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on food safety procedures
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address any non-compliance issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Sanitation, SOPs, Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCPs and GMPs
  • HACCP I-II certificate
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • 2-3 years experience in the Food industry is preferred
  • Computer proficiency with spreadsheet and database software (Visio, Minitab would be an asset)
