Job Summary

We are seeking qualified and experienced Secondary Occasional Teachers to join our team. As an Occasional Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of schools throughout the Niagara region, gaining valuable teaching experience and supporting the needs of students across the system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of subjects, including Math, Technology, Business Studies, English as a Second Language, French as a Second Language, Science, and Arts
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements
  • Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Conditions of Employment: Maintain good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, Upon hire, provide a Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months), Agreement to comply with the Board's policies, procedures and code of conduct, Successful completion of a probationary period in accordance with the Collective Agreement, Work a minimum of 15 teaching days in an academic school year, Complete an annual offence declaration process
