This full-time, on-site role as a Manufacturing Efficiency and R&D Specialist at Schnell Industries Inc. is designed for a dedicated and inquisitive individual who possesses a high level of integrity and the capability to tackle complex challenges through innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive research and development activities.
  • Design and develop tools and products using computer-aided design techniques.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support the design and development of new products and technologies.
  • Provide in-depth support for production floor issues and contribute innovative ideas during brainstorming sessions.
  • Work closely with the customer support team to address warranty and product concerns through creative design solutions.
  • Assist the drafting department in the design of equipment and products.
  • Support the welding department by creating processes for complex weldments.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and enhancement of existing and new products and processes.
  • Design and support the development of custom tooling solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities.
  • Test and evaluate prototypes to assess performance and reliability, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Document all research, design, and testing processes for future reference.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.

Essential Skills:
  • Extensive experience in 3D design and engineering software (minimum 5 years), with a preference for SolidWorks.
  • Experience in metal and welding manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CNC equipment and basic electrical and hydraulic components.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams while conducting independent research and development.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in spreadsheet applications (Excel/Google Sheets).
  • Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to work on-site.
