Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addiction Services Worker to join our team at Sault Area Hospital. As an Addiction Services Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients to assess their needs and develop personalized support plans.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on addiction and mental health issues.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and services to ensure seamless referrals.
  • Conduct assessments and screenings to identify client needs and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in crisis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and statistics.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two-year diploma in a health or social sciences field.
  • Experience working in an addictions services department or a related field.
  • Certification in GAIN-Q3 MI ONT Site Interviewer.
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or relevant governing body.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including Indigenous communities.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and best practices in addictions care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
