Purpose

The Sault Area Hospital is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Nurse Practitioner to join our Mental Health and Addictions/Eating Disorders Program. We are looking for a self-motivated leader with a strong track record in developing and expanding NP roles within healthcare settings.

Duties
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide patient care and develop treatment plans.
  • Assess patients and initiate orders for treatment, medications, and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop medical treatment plans and evaluate outcomes based on clinical skills and patient improvements.
  • Develop pathways to care for patients with mental health and addiction disorders.
  • Consult and refer patients to other healthcare providers and community services as needed.
Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Registration as RN (EC) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Enrolled in the Opioid Use Disorder Treatment (OUDT) course through the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
  • Enrolled in Certification with Addiction Care & Treatment Certificate (UBC).
  • Enrolled in Sublocade Certification.
Skills and Abilities
  • Practice autonomously as a Nurse Practitioner, offering the full scope of NP practice.
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments and diagnose health/illness conditions.
  • Communicate with clients about health assessment findings and diagnosis.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment for adults presenting with mental health and/or addiction disorders.
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health and trauma-informed care.
