Position Overview

As a **Cyber Security Governance Manager**, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and sustaining the organization's Information and Cyber Security Governance framework. Your responsibilities will encompass the development and upkeep of essential governance documents, including Policies, Standards, and Procedures/Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the agreement, management, monitoring, and reporting of cyber risks.
  • Conduct annual risk assessments to pinpoint any new or modified critical assets.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing the cyber risk profile for the Cross-functional Risk Committee.
  • Foster a robust culture of cyber risk awareness and information security throughout the organization.
  • Execute annual assessments of Information Security and Control for all vendors in line with the Outsourcing Policy.
  • Review technology solutions to identify service and solution gaps.
  • Ensure that identified deficiencies are addressed and validate the effectiveness of controls through appropriate testing.
  • Build and nurture effective partnerships with various stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop and implement a self-assessment process that integrates risk and controls evaluation into daily operations.
  • Support vendor management in executing the Annual IT Inherent Risk Assessment, adapting as necessary to changes in certification processes.
  • Contribute to the identification and adoption of advanced tools and techniques to enhance risk and controls assessment services.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 7+ years of experience in understanding risks, audits, and processes related to Information/Cyber Security and IT.
  • Approximately 5 years of strong management experience within a complex organizational structure.
  • Experience in designing and implementing security programs focused on governance, cyber security, security monitoring, and vulnerability management.
  • A thorough understanding of various Information and Cyber Security standards and frameworks, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001/2, CSA, PCI DSS, and COBIT.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to Canadian financial institutions.
  • The ability to communicate risks and associated trade-offs clearly and confidently.
  • Excellent skills in relationship management, consulting, problem-solving, and report writing.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
