As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the pastry operations at our esteemed clients' facilities. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating and implementing innovative pastry menus that exceed our clients' expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pastry Operations Management: Supervise the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Recipe Development and Standardization: Collaborate with our culinary team to develop and standardize recipes, ensuring consistency and excellence in our pastry offerings.
- Food Cost Control and Inventory Management: Monitor and control food costs, maintain accurate inventory levels, and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Sanitation and Maintenance: Ensure the pastry kitchen and equipment meet or exceed federal, provincial, and corporate standards and regulations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor hourly kitchen/pastry associates, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their success.
- Menu Planning and Implementation: Assist in planning and implementing seasonal menus that cater to our clients' diverse needs and preferences.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef, baker, or in a relevant role.
- Certifications and Education: Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent, post-secondary education in culinary or related studies, and a certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a relevant field.
- Skills and Qualities: Excellent attention to detail, creativity, organizational, and leadership skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and baking techniques.
