Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Lead Project Controls Specialist to oversee a significant Progressive Design Build rail and transit initiative. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing all aspects of project controls, including planning, scheduling, reporting, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and specialized support to resolve complex project control challenges.
  • Engage with clients, participate in regular meetings, and deliver comprehensive statistical reports.
  • Lead a team of Project Control Engineers/Specialists skilled in analyzing, evaluating, and forecasting project costs and schedules.
  • Evaluate the impacts of design and construction modifications as well as schedule delays.
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of a structured system to manage plans and schedules, ensuring project and company leadership are well-informed.
  • Coordinate staffing needs, delegate project tasks, and mentor team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and foster professional development for assigned staff.
  • Recommend and supervise the customization of project control systems to align with specific project needs.
  • Generate statistical reports for management on a regular or ad-hoc basis.
  • Contribute to business development by collecting and presenting relevant background information.
  • May be required to deliver informal or formal presentations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in project controls management, including supervisory roles in complex heavy civil projects.
  • Basic engineering knowledge and understanding are essential.
  • Experience in large integrated joint venture infrastructure projects valued over $1 billion is required.
  • Proficient in PC skills, particularly with Project Controls Software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a solid understanding of Primavera P6.
