Position Overview
Are you ready to contribute to some of the most significant engineering and construction initiatives globally? Parsons Corporation is in search of a Project Control Specialist to lend their expertise in project management, scheduling, and performance measurement. At this level, the Project Control Specialist is expected to operate with a degree of independence on designated projects, drawing from their training and technical knowledge. Rotational experience may include exposure to Estimating, Cost Engineering, and Planning/Scheduling sectors.
Cost Management Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain the cost management segment of the Parsons Integrated Control System (PICS) to equip project management and corporate leadership with essential tools for effective cost oversight.
- Engage in the formulation of the work breakdown structure, collaborating with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance teams.
- Prepare and manage inputs to the cost control system for comprehensive cost reporting.
- Create visual representations, such as graphs and diagrams, to convey cost status and forecast needs for project management and clients.
- Conduct analytical reviews and mathematical validations of cost reporting documents.
Scheduling and Planning Duties:
- Implement and uphold the Planning/Scheduling component of PICS, demonstrating an understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and relationships. Develop and maintain critical path logic networks and Gantt charts based on this information.
- Analyze, assess, and project current status against an established baseline schedule, evaluating the effects of design or construction modifications and schedule delays. Communicate schedule status to all levels of project and corporate management as well as to clients.
- Provide data input and perform analytical evaluations of generated reports.
- Gather and utilize historical data, such as performance metrics, to maintain a realistic foundation for future planning and forecasting.
- Offer guidance and specialized support to others in resolving project control challenges. Undertake additional responsibilities associated with this role as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers and project controls managers in planning and scheduling activities.
- Interpret contract specifications to prepare and review construction schedules accordingly.
- Collect and report on project schedules, identifying and assisting in the analysis of schedule variances while contributing to the development of corrective measures.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or a related field) along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience is required.
- Proficiency in various software utilized in the Project Controls Department, including Excel, Primavera, and Document and Materials Controls System (DMCS), is essential.
