We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team at Bar.B.Q 1988. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of quality and service, and leading a team of food service staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  • Food Preparation and Service: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, and prepare food order summaries for the chef.
  • Administrative Tasks: Prepare budget and cost estimates, maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and prepare and submit reports.
  • Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Environment: Noisy, wet/damp, and hot work site environment.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant.
  • Physical Demands: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and physically demanding work.
Personal Suitability:
  • Client Focus: Provide excellent customer service and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  • Efficient Interpersonal Skills: Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff and train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to changing kitchen conditions and priorities.
  • Team Player: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to achieve common goals.
  • Initiative: Take initiative to improve kitchen operations and maintain high standards of quality and service.
  • Dependability: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards and maintain accurate records.
