Kitchen Manager Job Description

At Bar.B.Q 1988, we are seeking a skilled Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining inventory levels and controlling costs.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements, ensuring timely ordering and minimizing waste.
  • Establish work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing and maintaining a smooth workflow.
  • Monitor and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for management.
  • Prepare and submit reports, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
