Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Quotations Specialist to join our team at Emco Corporation. As a Quotations Specialist, you will play a critical role in interacting with architects, builders, engineers, contractors, and business owners to create competitive quotations and submittal packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret Complex Information: Interpret complex information, including building plans, to determine customer requirements and offer solutions that maximize profitability and create high levels of customer satisfaction.
  2. Create Accurate Quotations: Create accurate and professional quotations packages from customer specifications/drawings using applicable software.
  3. Negotiate Pricing and Delivery Terms: Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with both vendors and customers; expedite orders when required.
  4. Create Pricing Contracts: Create pricing contracts based on accepted quotation to ensure accurate pricing; create ship to accounts.
  5. Follow up on Outstanding Quotations: Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders and improve upon the process and effectiveness.
  6. Investigate Customer and Vendor Problems: Investigate customer and vendor problems, and resolve pricing shortfalls and material returns in a timely manner.
  7. Support the Profit Centre Team: Support the Profit Centre Team as an expert in the specifics around projects and product information.
  8. Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with the Profit Centre Team to ensure customer expectations in regard to their orders are upheld.
  9. Communicate Credit Risks: Communicate to the Profit Centre Manager and Credit Department any changes in a customer's business that might cause a credit risk.

Requirements:

  1. Education: College and/or University degree.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 1 year of related experience – contractor sales preferred.
  3. Software Skills: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  4. Personal Qualities: Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
  5. Product Knowledge: Ability to develop comprehensive product and product application knowledge.
  6. Attention to Detail: High level of detail orientation and organizational abilities; work under tight timelines and multiple deadlines.
  7. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates.
  8. Self-Motivation: Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  9. Math Skills: Intermediate math skills.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Industry Knowledge: Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre.
  2. Construction Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the construction industry.
  3. Software Experience: Experience with Trend and Eclipse.
