About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Fitter to join our team at Manson Floor Covering Ltd. As a key member of our masonry team, you will be responsible for installing high-quality tile flooring and surfaces for our commercial and residential clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with tile, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Mortar and Adhesive Application: Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel, ensuring a strong and durable bond.
  • Tile Installation: Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base, ensuring a level and even surface.
  • Tile Cutting and Fitting: Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, minimizing waste and ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and test tile installations to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and instruct apprentices, providing guidance and support to ensure they develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the role.
  • Project Management: Estimate costs and materials, prepare tenders and quotations, and manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in tile fitting and installation
  • Commercial and residential tile fitting experience
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy materials
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions
  • Commercial and residential work settings
  • 35 hours per week
