Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team. As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech language pathologists to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to our clients in their homes, communities, and workplaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform 1:1 therapy sessions in the community, implementing light fitness or personal training programs as needed
  • Implement occupational therapy programming, including cognitive rehabilitation programming, to support clients towards independent living skills
  • Support adaptive school function and community integration goals
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational days, training sessions, and establishing personal networks
Requirements
  • Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant diploma from a recognized community college, or other equivalent
  • Two years of relevant OTA/PTA experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of the rehabilitation approach to client care and the roles of OT, PT, and SLP
  • Excellent computer skills, including ability to work in MS Word and Outlook
  • Great interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work with different personality types
  • A valid Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
