Established in 1976, CBM specializes in delivering a comprehensive suite of assurance, taxation, and advisory services to clients across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Our firm comprises 29 dedicated professionals, 5 support staff, and 3 partners, all of whom contribute to a collaborative and efficient service environment. Following a recent merger, we have experienced consistent growth, bolstered by our strong reputation rather than active advertising. Our offices are situated in downtown Hamilton and Ancaster.

We have recently expanded our team with junior accountants and are seeking experienced professionals to guide our team and oversee our client engagements.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership Role: As a manager, you will primarily review work prepared by other team members, providing essential leadership and guidance throughout the file preparation process. You may also be involved in preparing client files either independently or collaboratively.
  2. Team Dynamics: Our firm values close internal relationships, ensuring that every team member is familiar with one another despite our two locations. Direct access to partners is common, fostering a supportive work environment.
  3. Diverse Client Engagements: You will engage with a variety of corporate, individual, and estate clients across multiple industries, gaining a rich professional experience.
  4. Varied Engagement Types: Your work will encompass a range of engagements, including compilations, reviews, audits, personal and corporate tax returns, as well as specialized consulting projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in CaseWare/Caseview, Jazzit, and Excel.
  • Experience with tax software such as DTMax is advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian tax regulations, including personal, corporate, and excise taxes, as well as Canadian GAAPs - ASPE and ASNPO.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually
