The Investment Consultant is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service to both existing and prospective members by providing a comprehensive array of deposit, investment, and intricate lending solutions. This role involves assessing the financial lifecycle of members and offering tailored solutions to meet their financial requirements, or directing them to the appropriate advisor. The position entails managing a diverse portfolio of members.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Cultivates strong relationships with both current and prospective members; evaluates member financial stages and offers financial guidance or refers them to the suitable advisor.
- Transaction Management: Handles a wide range of complex member transactions, including personal loans, retail mortgages, and RRSP loans; investment offerings (typically under $100K in investable assets); opening personal or business accounts, debit/credit cards, lines of credit/overdraft protection, and associated insurance products.
- Branch Objectives: Contributes to the achievement of annual branch targets and goals through proactive promotion of First West products and services, involvement in branch initiatives, and actively seeking potential cross-sell and referral opportunities during member interactions. Meets established annual sales and referral objectives.
- Administrative Support: Executes various administrative tasks which may include, but are not limited to: estate administration, loan application processing, conducting credit assessments, and follow-up communications with members as necessary.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertakes other duties as assigned by branch leadership.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Completion of a College or Technical School Diploma (2 years) in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mutual Funds License is mandatory.
- Must successfully complete the internal First West certification program specific to this role within the designated timeframe.
- Preferred: PFP designation.
- A minimum of 2 years in a Member Advisor capacity or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to identify member needs and recommend suitable products and services.
- Self-motivated individual with the capability to work independently and resolve issues using sound judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and banking software.
- Exhibits an understanding of risk management and adheres to established policies and procedures.
Salary Range: $48,640 - $62,300

The final compensation may vary based on various factors, including bonuses and/or incentives, as well as the candidate's skills and experience.
