Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor, Natural Resources to join our team at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum in the field of natural resources, with a focus on forestry and environmental studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials and courses in natural resources and forestry
  • Teach and mentor students in a variety of instructional settings, including face-to-face and online environments
  • Design and implement assessments and evaluations to measure student learning and program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to develop and maintain curriculum and instructional resources
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees and activities to promote excellence in teaching and learning
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as forestry, environmental studies, or education
  • Minimum of three years of industry experience in natural resources or a related field
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners
  • Proficiency in a variety of instructional technologies and digital tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • BC Instructors Diploma or BC Teaching Certificate
  • Experience with blended learning and online instruction
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
