Job Title: Instructor, Natural Resources

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor to join our team at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum in the area of natural resources, with a focus on GIS and remote sensing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments
  • Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity
  • Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment
  • Communicate clearly in writing learning outcomes for programs and courses
  • Design and conduct evaluations or appraisals of students
  • Maintain records of student enrollment and achievement

Requirements:

  • Forest professional or related discipline and minimum of three years industry GIS experience
  • Advanced diploma in GIS, master's degree in GIS, education, forestry, environmental studies or related field
  • Curriculum development experience
  • One year teaching experience in a post-secondary setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BC Instructors Diploma or BC Teaching Certificate
  • Experience with blended learning and online instruction
