About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team at Unitech Construction & Renovations Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to create a durable and attractive surface.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation, including removing old finishes and debris.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure a strong bond.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and prevent damage.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency to achieve a strong and durable finish.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Handle heavy loads and materials, requiring physical strength and endurance.
  • Work overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
  • Work in a physically demanding environment with frequent exposure to dust, noise, and other hazards.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting, bending, and working at heights.
  • Availability to work overtime as required.
