Position Overview

The Widgets Squad is dedicated to transforming how our partners interact with their users. We design and develop impactful, dynamic widgets and tools that integrate effortlessly into websites and social media, enhancing user engagement and creating memorable experiences. As a Fullstack Developer, you will lead the charge in this innovation, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of our state-of-the-art widgets. Your frontend expertise will be crucial as you spearhead projects aimed at producing visually stunning and high-performance products. With a solid understanding of backend systems, you will ensure our solutions are effective, robust, and scalable. You will work closely with Product Managers and Designers to bring these products to fruition, maintaining a strong emphasis on simplicity, usability, and long-term maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete design, development, and deployment of widgets for blogs and social media, ensuring a harmonious balance between frontend and backend requirements.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive library of widgets that will be integral to our Developer platform, with a strong focus on frontend development using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Implement backend solutions with MongoDB, ensuring seamless integration with our REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to refine product specifications, evaluate trade-offs, and make strategic decisions that align with business objectives.
  • Take responsibility for web performance metrics such as FCP, LCP, and TBT, ensuring our widgets are not only functional but also exceptionally fast.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Facilitate sprint retrospectives and incident post-mortems, assisting the team in introspection and process enhancement.
  • Ensure code quality, simplicity, and long-term maintainability through thorough code reviews and adherence to best practices.
  • Propose and implement well-considered technical designs for large projects, prioritizing usability and user experience.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, understanding how your contributions align with broader business strategies.
  • Balance practical solutions with technical excellence, knowing when to advocate for quality and when to find compromise.
  • Quickly engage the right individuals to discuss options and escalate as necessary when faced with challenges or changes in scope.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Frontend development with a keen attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing solutions.
  • Proven experience in backend development with a deep understanding of modern frameworks and technologies, particularly MongoDB and TypeScript.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset, with the capacity to assess risks and details proactively.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCP, LCP, and TBT metrics with a strong grasp of web performance.
  • Experience in integrating third-party APIs and SDKs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage significant technical projects from conception to deployment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with product managers and other stakeholders.
