Who You Are

We are seeking a highly organized and solution-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist. As a subject matter expert, you will ensure compliance with payroll regulations across various geographies. Your keen attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.

This role demands strong problem-solving skills. You will be adept at identifying creative solutions to complex payroll challenges and maintaining a positive attitude when facing unexpected issues. You will also provide guidance and mentorship to our Payroll Clerks.

Furthermore, you are a team player with a genuine passion for assisting employees with their payroll and benefits needs. Your friendly and approachable demeanor is crucial in this role.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the administration of payroll for all company employees, ensuring timely and accurate execution of payroll reconciliation reports and schedules.
  • Maintain payroll records within our HRIS system and propose recommendations to enhance the scalability and efficiency of internal payroll processes.
  • Provide support and answer benefit-related inquiries regarding extended health and dental plans, demonstrating a thorough understanding of our benefits processes.
  • Reconcile payroll and manage information flow to the general ledger, ensuring costs are allocated to the correct accounts and cost centers.
  • Prepare provincial and federal reporting and remittances (e.g., WCB, WSIB, EHT, etc.).
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
