Executive Medical Director, Clinical Operations and Strategy

Island Health is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Medical Director to lead our clinical operations and strategy. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare on Vancouver Island.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient care and outcomes, ensuring alignment with Island Health's vision, mission, and values.
- Lead the integration of clinical programs and services, fostering collaboration and coordination across departments and teams.
- Ensure the effective delivery of health and clinical services, prioritizing patient safety and quality.
- Provide leadership and support to program teams, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Participate in physician resource planning, research, and academic development, driving innovation and best practices in healthcare.
- Build and maintain key relationships with external agencies, stakeholders, and partners, including the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria.
- Represent Island Health as a media spokesperson, promoting our organization's values and mission.
- Contribute to the development and promotion of medical standards, education, and research, driving excellence in patient care.
- Proven experience in clinical leadership and operations, with a strong track record of success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Knowledge of healthcare policy, legislation, and regulations, with the ability to navigate complex systems.
